My Favourite Quotes

I rely on quotes to inspire me and to inspire and motivate the many wonderful people I work with. Some of my favourites are:

1. My favourite quote is ‘The best way to predict the future is to invent it’ by Alan Kay. This is so true. The only way to reduce the uncertainties in life is to take charge and create the kind of future you want for yourself….literally ‘invent your own future’.

2. ‘Dare to dream, but don’t dream unless you are willing to live your dream’ – Bunmi Oni. This quotation inspired me to move back home to Ghana, after living over eleven years in the West, to pursue my dreams. I had been dreaming of returning home but when Mr Oni challenged me with this quote, I made a decision to live my dream.

3. “Our most important assets – our people, our reputation, our brands and our customers – are not on the books" - Ted Levitt. Anybody who has worked with me will confirm that this quotation is central to my management philosophy

4. ‘If you think education is expensive, try ignorance’ – Derek Bok. True that!

5. “The Customer is the only profit center” - Peter Drucker. Well, need I say more?

6. ‘There is sweetness in equality’ is a recent addition to my list is an Ewe proverb my father taught me.

7. ‘A leader without followers is merely taking a walk’- John Maxwell.
